This half term we have started work on our Topic of ‘Dinosaur Planet.’ We have been learning about dinosaurs whilst developing our learning in all areas of the curriculum. dinosaur planet cover
What can we find out about Dinosaurs? Here are some ideas for home learning if you would like to try them.
In class we have been working on the phonic sounds to help develop our spelling and reading. Below are printable copies of worksheets for each sound if you wish to do further work at home.
Jolly phonics support materials:
All Y1/2 pupils have a HWB login that they can use to access HWB on devices at home. J2Blast can be a useful tool to support Maths and spelling. And pupils can also use JiT to carry out any work they wish to do at home.
Please read as regularly as you can with your child at home. It really does help massively in developing their reading skills as well as encouraging them to enjoy it.
Oxford Owl This is a useful link to access free eBooks that can also support your child’s reading at home.
Any practical work to help your child recognise different coins would be really helpful. Also to begin to use a clock to learn the different hours. O’clock! If they know the o’clock, they can begin to learn half-past, then quarter past/to.
If you ever have any questions or queries please contact me through Class Dojo. Otherwise contact me through school and I will be happy to arrange a time when we can meet and talk in more detail.
In other news we have started learning songs and words for our Christmas concert ‘Donkey for Sale.’ We look forward to being able to share it with you soon!
