Safeguarding the children of Blaendulais Primary School is our number one priority and we pride ourselves on the support we provide to our pupils and their families.
Our school is committed to ensuring the safety and protection of everyone, including pupils, parents, Governors and staff. We acknowledge that all children have a right to protection and we will take action to safeguard their well-being. When visiting our school, we expect all visitors and volunteers to share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils.
We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. All school staff are trained in Child Protection and our children know the key adults that they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding & Child Protection Officers:

The procedures which we follow have been laid down by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and we have adopted their model policy and procedures for the safety of all.
Our fire drills, systems and procedures are practised regularly along with lockdown systems and procedures. These are reviewed regularly.
We ensure that we comply fully to Safe Recruitment procedures to ensure that all staff (Teachers, Governors, Teaching Assistants, Office staff, volunteers etc) have been appropriately checked for their suitability to work with children.
