Week 5 – Monday 1 February 2021

Dear all Early Years Parents and Carers,

Here’s the learning for this week, as always split into Nursery (children who attend school part time) and Reception (children who are full time).  Remember to check our Class Dojo page every day for details of Teams meeting and teacher video uploads.

This week we would like you to concentrate on mark making with your child.  There is a new video on this which shows you ideas from the Mark Making document in Sticky Files above, or click here to open: Mark Making Ideas.  Try different ways of making marks with your child like painting, chalking, making finger shapes in trays of flour or shaving foam or making marks in the snow or mud with sticks!  The bigger the better!  Nursery parents especially, please don’t worry about writing with a pencil at this stage.  Similarly, Reception parents, if your child is not yet ready to write with a pencil, please don’t worry, just try the mark making activities show to help strengthen those arm and shoulder muscles and to get the brain directing the hands to make marks, whilst having lots of fun together!

If you can, please try to do some phonics and maths (below) every day with your child and then dip in and out of the other activities as you fancy.

Have a great week all and hope everyone is keeping safe and well,

Mrs Timmins and Mrs Rudge
